Gal:  What a Life! (1)
“What A Life!” by Hans Gál. (1st part) This is a musical revue written by Austrian composer Hans Gál (1890-1987) in 1940 in an internment camp on the Isle of Man. Gál had fled to Britain in 1938 to escape Nazi persecution, but in summer 1940 the British rounded up all male Germans and Italians in the UK (as well as British fascists) and sent many to camps on the Isle of Man. Gal was interned for three months before being released.
